LG Electronics has announced its latest flagship smartphone, taking another step in the arms race between LG and other Android vendors over swanky hardware specs. The G3, which is marketed under the tagline that “Simple is the new smart,” has an quad-HD display and 13 megapixel camera with laser-auto focus that focuses on an image “faster than the blink of an eye.”
There was no mention of a the potentially-wireless smartwatch that LG has said it will launch in the second quarter of this year.
With the G3, users can tap a subject on the screen to focus and take a photo in one function. The front-facing camera is also geared towards selfie snaps, detecting when the subject makes a fist in front of the camera and then counting down to the capture.
